Who we are
Velvet Rail Lounge ("Velvet Rail," "we," "us") operates the cocktail lounge at 505 Main Street, Houston, Texas 77002, and the website velvetrailhtx.com. This policy explains what information the website collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions: or 713 259 5725.
Information we collect
We collect information only when you choose to give it to us through a form on this site:
- Newsletter and text signup: first name, last name, email address (if you choose email), mobile phone number (if you choose texts), which consents you gave, the date and time you gave them, the version of the consent language you agreed to, and the page you signed up from.
- Private event inquiries: name, phone or email, preferred date, guest count, setting, occasion, and any details you include.
- Job applications: name, phone, email, roles and nights of interest, experience, TABC status, earliest start date, and anything you write in the application. We do not accept file uploads.
Our forms are processed by Netlify, the company that hosts this website. Netlify also records the time of each submission and standard technical information such as IP address for spam protection. Reservations are handled by SevenRooms and ticketing by Eventbrite or Posh; information you enter on those services is governed by their privacy policies, not this one.
This website does not use advertising cookies or analytics trackers. It stores a small amount of information in your browser only to remember things like whether you've closed a notice.
How we use it
- To send the email updates you asked for about events, experiences and offers at Velvet Rail, if you opted in to email.
- To send the text messages you asked for, if you opted in to texts. See the SMS Terms & Conditions.
- To respond to private event inquiries and job applications.
- To keep a record of the consent you gave, which we are required to retain.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for purposes other than those listed here.
Mobile information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Who else sees it
Service providers that process information on our behalf and only for the purposes above: Netlify (website hosting and form storage), our email marketing platform (Constant Contact) for sending emails you opted in to, and our text messaging provider for sending texts you opted in to. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Your choices
- Email: every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email with "unsubscribe" in the subject.
- Texts: reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. You can also email .
- Access or deletion: email and we will tell you what we hold about you and delete it on request, except consent and opt-out records we are required to keep.
Once you opt out, we do not re-subscribe you unless you sign up again yourself.
Retention
We keep newsletter and text contact details while you remain subscribed. We keep a record of your consent and any opt-out for as long as the law requires. Private event inquiries and job applications are kept as long as needed to respond and for our records.
Age
Velvet Rail is a 21-and-over venue. Our marketing is directed to adults 21 and older, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Current consent language version: 2026-10-29-v1.
