Velvet Rail brings Industrial Soul to the heart of Downtown Houston: a cinematic blend of raw industrial architecture, vintage rail-inspired details, warm metals and rich textures, with the intimacy of an upscale R&B lounge.
Midnight-blue chesterfields and red velvet chairs sit on black marble beneath exposed steel and a ring chandelier. Ornate gold mirrors line the walls, framing large HDTVs for game nights, movie nights and special event viewing; candle-lit tables and the illuminated bar carry the warm amber light across the room.
Then the music takes over.
Handcrafted cocktails, plush seating, atmospheric lighting, live music and curated DJ sets create a setting that moves naturally from after-work drinks and intimate conversation to celebrations and late-night energy, Thursday through Sunday.

Velvet Rail sits at 505 Main Street in Downtown Houston, steps from the METRORail line that gives the lounge its name. The front room looks straight onto the street through floor-to-ceiling glass: red velvet chairs, brass lamps and the city going by.
Open Thursday through Sunday, 7 PM to 2 AM. Reservations are recommended on Friday and Saturday nights; walk-ins are welcome as space allows.
