Velvet Rail is at 505 Main Street in the heart of Downtown Houston, inside a fifteen-minute walk of the George R. Brown Convention Center and the AfroTech hotels, the Marriott Marquis, Four Seasons and C Baldwin among them. The METRORail stops outside the door.
For Tech Conference Week, Afro Technology Week in Houston, the lounge opens every night: Monday through Friday from 5 PM, Saturday and Sunday from 7 PM, all through 2 AM. Red velvet chairs, midnight-blue chesterfields, a long illuminated bar and a sound system a tech crowd notices. Cocktails by the glass, bottle service by the section, complimentary bar bites at every table.

Walk in after the last session; doors are open from 5 PM Monday through Friday. Happy hour Thursday and Friday, 7 to 9 PM: $3 select cocktails Thursday, $3 cocktails and $15 hookah Friday.

A section or a run of tables with bottle service, reserved online in a minute. Sections go first during conference week; book before you land.
Your company
The whole room, up to 240 guests, for a client dinner, a founder mixer or the after-party, any night of the week. Stage, screens, sound and a catering menu.

What are Velvet Rail's hours during Tech Conference Week 2026?
Velvet Rail opens every night from Monday, November 2 through Sunday, November 8, 2026. Monday through Friday doors open at 5 PM; Saturday and Sunday at 7 PM; every night runs until 2 AM. These are special conference-week hours; regular hours are Thursday to Sunday, 7 PM to 2 AM.
